Tim -- absolutely outstanding image. What astounds me is that you're using a old 350D, a camera that I still have but considered to be a marginal imager. I know what comes out of that camera in RAW format and my hats off to you for your calibration and post-processing techniques. Very Nice!! Dave

Tim, Beautiful results especially with color processing. How do you get such nice deep golden yellow stars while keeping the reds and blues balanced with DSLR?
Comment By : David Wood Image Name : NGC7000/IC5070 Date Posted: 9/10/2012

Nice Shot Scott. Love the detail in the "mexico" portion of the NA nebula. Looks lik you're using Carboni's Astronomy Actions to get some spikes on the stars? Unless of course your Nikor Lens has a set of spider viens on the front :-) Great Image!
Comment By : Greg Santos Image Name : M27 Date Posted: 9/5/2012

Tim,

As always, another of the finest DSLR results, nicely framed and beautifully processed.

Peter,

What a beautiful and detailed result. I am always so impressed by the amount and quality of the data you capture, and the processing time and skill invested in the final result. Beautiful work.
Comment By : Dennis Ritz Image Name : V0879 Aquila Date Posted: 8/12/2012

Ritz
V0879 Aquila is an eclipsing binary pair within a common atmosphere revolving and rotatingaround each other in 6 1/2 hours. As a cataclysmic variable it contains a white dwarf and red dwarf spiraling together and eventually merging. Photometry using 120 second exposures with an SBIG 9E and Meade 16" f10.

Utterly fabulous image. I believe that this is the best image of the area that I've ever seen. Wonderful!

I like to see some detailed exposure information, especially with your excellent treatment of the trapezium.

Subtle and beautiful, an amazing shot, Peter. Very few imagers (me not included!) are up to capturing this amount of faint detail. Lovely and transporting.

Wow!

You are an excellent photographer Robert. Thanks for posting your shots. I love this part of Orion most of all. So few know its there, and it takes a lot of hours to get this much out of that dark part of the sky.

Peter,

"Wow" just doesn't say enough any more...the QSI583 has put you into another league altogether. This image is simply breathtaking in its depth, clarity, and detail. Looking at this image is like being out there.
Comment By : Michael Johnson Image Name : M27 Date Posted: 9/2/2010

Johnson

I have to say this just might be my best image yet.

even if the stars don't have much color to them

now IF I can get calibrating figured out I just might start getting them looking even better
