Object Information:

 



The bright star seen in this image is Gamma Cygni which gives its name to the nebulous area surrounding it. The star is also commonly known as Sadr. Sadr is about 1,524 light years distant. IC 1318 is an emission nebula with a dominate Hydrogen Alpha emission line. It is also known as Sharpless 108 and the Gamma Cygni Nebula. The star cluster at the upper right edge is NGC 6910.
